Centre for Management of Environment and Disasters (CME&D)

The center conducts training programmes in the areas of Disaster Management sponsored by Commissioner Disaster Management Department, Government of Telangana.

The categories of participants trained are broadly as follows.

  • Officers of Agriculture Department, Telangana
  • District level functionaries dealing with Heat wave Action Plan
  • Mandal & District Level Officials concerned with Disaster Management

Objectives

  • To create and enhance awareness about disasters and their management among different stakeholders engaged in disaster management;
  • To build the capacities of and provide training to different stakeholders in disaster management

Activities

  • Developing training modules;
  • Preparing training material;
  • Conducting training (incampus& off campus) and capacity building programmes; 4. Producing documentary films;
  • Conducting workshops, seminars, conferences; and
  • Documentation of disaster management activities

A.Nageswara Rao is a post graduate in science with a PG diploma in Business Administration. He has wide experience as a faculty member, Registrar in a national level institution besides extensive executive experience at various levels including at board level in one of the largest PSUs. He has handled varied types of assignments in different areas like operations, Administration, HRD, Public relations etc. He has published 5 papers.

K.Vidyullata is a post graduate in Community Health and Nutrition. She has worked in several NGOs, handled various positions like Project Manager, Counsellor etc. in Development sector. Organised training programmes in Water and Sanitation, Disaster Management and Gender. Involved in various research projects like Nutritional status of adolescent girls in rural areas, An evaluation study on Urdu medium schools in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts with reference to enrolment, retention and academic achievement of the minority children etc. Worked in different fields like Health, Nutrition, Education, Gender, Water and Sanitation etc.
