TSIRD brings multi-disciplinary integrated educational courses in Rural development, which are designed drawing insights from our extensive experience of over 54 years in handling varied issues related to rural development.

The aim of all our courses is to develop a critical appreciation of the concept of sustainable development in the rural environment and an understanding of related social sciences. The courses also seek to develop a knowledge and understanding of rural policy making and management approaches to promoting more sustainable rural environments and lifestyles.

A core component of TSIRD courses is comprehensive and ongoing hands-on training. Our approach helps students/participants become well-rounded, development-minded individuals who understand grassroots community development and capacity building, with skills to design and implement sustainable projects with effective tools and methods.

Certificate Course in Rural Development and Decentralised Planning

Telangana State Institute of Rural Development (TSIRD), GoAP in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, jointly announce a certificate course on ‘Rural Development and Decentralised Planning’. The course is designed for a) Mandal level officials involved in development initiatives, b) NGO functionaries engaged in rural development programmes, c) Any graduate who intends to take up career with agencies engaged in rural development and d) Any one including elected representatives interested in development, Governance and planning in Panchayati Raj Institutions are welcome.

Super-scribed with "Application for CRDDP December 2012" on the envelope. In service candidates shall forward their applications through proper channel. The applications should reach on or before 04 January 2012. The course will commence in the 2nd week of February 2012. Telangana State Institute of Rural Development (TSIRD), the apex training institute for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department of GoTS in collaboration with Institute of Rural Studies & Administration (IRSA), Guntur, jointly announce a certificate course on �Integrated Natural Resource Development for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj personnel involved with the planning, implementation and monitoring of natural resource, representative of communities ,who are engaged in the effort to improve and utilize natural resource ,and graduate intending to build a career in improvement and utilization of natural resource.

Natural resource are the gift of nature to mankind. The advancement of science and technology and the increasing needs of living beings are causing serious threat to the sustainability of natural resource and the quality life of people. The on-going effort of rural development in India aim to enable people especially the disadvantaged to fulfill their needs within the capacity of available natural resource. Providing appropriate knowledge and capacity to improve and utilize the natural resource at the community level influence both the sustainability of natural resource and the transformation of rural development. The need for communities to participate actively in planning and implementation of the on-going programme like Integrated Watershed Development., National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) etc. is immense. There is an enormous need for a vast pool of multi-disciplinary professionals to au i t the communities to participate in the process of improving and utilizing the natural resource and solving their needs. Course and its objectives The main objective is to a i t the personnel of rural development at various level and the representative of communities in acquiring scientific and technical understanding and skill to improve and utilize the natural resource .

Eligibility Criteria :

Graduate with adequate reading, writing and comprehension skill of English. Preference will be extended to the personnel of rural development and the community representative involved with programme related to the natural resource . Thirty candidates ,after a e ment of the applications and personal interview will be admitted for the course.

Capacity Building Services:

Telangana State Institute of Rural Development (TSIRD), Hyderabad Campus, at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, and the IRSA, Guntur Campus, at Chowdavaram, Guntur. Project-work will be organized at various locations in Andhra Prades h.

Course fee per candidate is R 25,000/- (without boarding) and R 35,000/- (with boarding).

TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT

All courses involve lectures, tutorials, seminars and project work, although the relevant balance varies as you progress through the course. Each course will have reading resources which you are encouraged to pursue in your own time to further your understanding of taught material. In addition to these courses you are also encouraged to participate in various seminars and guest lectures that are regularly conducted TSIRD involving participation from all level of rural development officials and the expert consultants from different domains.
